"Our visit was extremely interesting and relevant - the students were able to make many valuable connections between Milton Keynes and other places." A-Level teacher, Lincoln
Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre has a long history of working with both further education and higher education on a range of topics. We believe that taking students out into the field, applying theory to reality, enhances and embeds their understanding.
Sixth forms and universities visit MKCDC from all over the country and the world because we cover a broad range of topics, using our expertise and extensive archive materials to inform the learning experience.
Our standard programme for visits at this level begins with a presentation. The presentation outlines the key themes and issues for the day and is usually up to an hour long, with plenty of time for questions and answers. Then the group embarks on a tour of the city with full commentary, taking in key sites and stopping to examine sites in more depth where appropriate. Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre is always prepared to tailor content to meet the needs of your group, simply talk to us about what you would like to cover.
Our educational bookings include a space for the group to eat lunch but we can also make recommendations about local facilities should you wish to build a stop for lunch into the tour. If you would like to make your visit overnight we having a charming YHA youth hostel just minutes away in Bradwell Village. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for information.
