Steve Crowther

Chair

Steve Crowther is from Rotherham, Yorkshire where he attended Rotherham Grammar School and Thomas Rotherham Sixth Form College. After working in construction he enrolled at Gloucestershire College of Art and Design and studied Landscape Architecture, graduating in 1976. He became a full Member of the Landscape Institute until leaving in 2018.

Steve worked two years for Peterlee Development Corporation, County Durham as Landscape Officer and from 1978 to 1987 as Senior Landscape Architect with Cleveland County Council. From 1987 he moved with family to Milton Keynes and worked for the Council as Principle Landscape Officer. After 23 years he retired in 2010 from the position of Landscape and Countryside Manager. Steve held the Client Officer responsibility for Bradwell Abbey at MKC and shortly after retirement joined the Board of Trustees for City Discovery Centre. He is currently Chair.

Steve’s interests are centred around design and the natural environment and the benefits that can provide for the health and wellbeing of the wider population. Family oriented activities are greatly enjoyed and the matter of trying to 'keep fit' is actively pursued through walking, cycling, cricket, tennis and gardening.
