We're delighted to let you know we have been awarded funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund. This was distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund and is part of the Government’s £750m support package for charities and will be used to support the running of our community and sensory gardens, woodland walk and outdoor activities. This will help us to keep the grounds at Bradwell Abbey open as a haven for our local community.
We are also thrilled to announce we have received significant funding from the government’s Culture Recovery Fund! We’re very grateful to the Department of Digital, Culture Media and Sport for making it possible for us to continue to progress and adapt in the face of the challenges of 2020 and beyond.
And last but not least, both the CLARE Foundation and Milton Keynes Council have awarded us Covid-related relief, for which we are very grateful!

Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre, with help from Historic England Funding, is producing a pilot pack of fun teacher resources! These will include free craft activities, hidden within horrible history style stories now posted (with more to come!) on our newly created YouTube channel.
Links to templates and instructions for the activities can be found in the video description boxes, and will soon be on our new website in learning pack form: https://www.mkcdc.org.uk/education/romans/
To date we have developed online activities covering some elements of Viking mythology (activities include making swords, axes and shields, and whipcord weaving) and a Roman Villa story line (including archaeology, baking bread, and making mosaics, shields and spears).
In the New Year we will be developing a further subscription package which will be tailored to the curriculum so that your children can access their favourite history experiences from the safety of the classroom, while Covid uncertainties continue.
We are also happy to develop any bespoke online experiences for you. Get in touch to discuss your needs: Director@mkcdc.org.uk
