Professor David Lock CBE, MRTPI
President
David Lock founded David Lock Associates in 1988, was Managing Director and Chairman until 2008 and then Chairman until 2013. He is now a Strategic Planning Advisor to the company, which has become an Employee Benefit Trust. He was founder Chair of David Lock Associates (Australia) with whom he undertook several consultancy assignments until standing down in 2015. He remains the founder Chair of DLA Architects Practice which is now a wholly independent business.
David was appointed to the half time post of Chief Planning Adviser to the Department of the Environment when John Gummer, was Secretary of State. I addition to his consultancy work, David served for 10 years as a Visiting Professor at the University of Central England in Birmingham. David was Chairman of the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA), with whom he was a Trustee for over 30 years and reman a columnist in their Town and Country Planning magazine. After 32 years as Chair, David is now President of the sub-regional environmental education charity City Discovery in Milton Keynes.
